MySpace Typeface

This week, the font that I chose was the MySpace font. From my knowledge, and with the help of Identifont, I found that the typeface that they might've used was "Arial." Since this weeks homework was based on the Arial typeface. I like this logo because it is a logo for a social networking site, and I am a big fan of social networks because it connects me with people, and I can keep in contact with people that I don't normally see.

The North Face Typeface

This week, the typeface I chose to research is "The North Face" Typeface. On Identifont, the typeface they say that this typeface could have been was, "Lightbox." If they did use this typeface, I really like it. I think it really matches well with the color and the image. The North Face is a company that makes coats/jackets. They are very popular because of their comfort that they use in the jackets, and it is overall a well-known company.

Everyone have a great week!

VOGUE Typeface

Hello everyone!

This week, my wordmark that I researched is the "VOGUE" wordmark. VOGUE is a title of a magazine, that has a lot of fashion tips, designs, etc. (Mostly for women). According to Identifont, the typeface that they are using for this might be, "Criterion." If they are using this font, I like it because it's elegant, and overall it brings the fashion side out of the magazine to attract viewers.

Hope everyone has a good rest of the week!!

McDonald's Logo

Hello everyone!

This week, I wanted to research the "McDonald's logo" typeface. When I looked up the typeface for this logo on identifont.com, it said that the typeface that might been used to create this logo, might be a font named, "TC Broadway" if they did use this font, I think the typeface is very elegant and nice, and it's also easier to read. I really like the McDonald's logo, because they always seem to make people feel right at home. (So overall a nice logo and typeface, because it makes it look appealing to the customer!)

Canon Typeface

Hello everyone!

This week, I wanted to share the Canon logo. I really like the Canon brand...because it gives high quality, and it's overall a good brand to have in electronics. The font of this logo is very unique, because it shows just what the brand is. I looked up the font on Identifont and found that the font that they might've used for this typeface or logo was the font, "Benjamin" (BeattyType). If they did use this font, it makes this logo more professional and fun to look at.

Everyone have a good rest of the week!

This is the logo I will be doing for Project 2

Hello everyone!!!

This week, I am posting up a picture of the place that I am doing my word mark for project 2. The company that I am doing is a small locally owned diner called Ott's Drive-In that is located in Rantoul, IL. If you ever come to Rantoul, you have to stop here, they have great food, and the people there are all friendly and welcoming. I know the owners and they have made it the popular establishment that it is today. I researched the font of the sign on identifont, and the font that they said that it might be was, a font called "Fling" which is a sans-serif font. My ideas for this word mark is, that it looks professionally done and has a little bit or the "newer style" that we have today. Since it is one of the popular restaurants that we have here in Rantoul, I want it to look fun and inviting.

Everybody have a great week and weekend! :-)

Inspiration-Project 2

Hello everyone!

This week's post is one of the few images I found for research for my project 2....I love this logo because it is unique and it has it's own personal style to it....also, the color red makes it feel a little more intimidating. The font choice for this that I found on identifont.com was they said the font name was "Plotta" if it is this font, it is very creative and fun to look at!!

Everyone have a good rest of the week!! :-)

ILLINOIS FONT

Hello everybody! This week, my inspiration is the ILLINOIS font. I looked up on the Identifont site and it said that the possible font they could've used was "Predicate." It is a sans-serif font, and the reason why I like this font (if it was used for this, is because it's nice and elegant and it brings some intimidation to the given picture because Illinois is a sports team.

Hopefully everybody has a good rest of the week! :-)

Eastern Illinois Font

Hello everybody!

This week my inspirational font that I chose was Eastern Illinois's logo font. On Identifont.com, I found that the possible font that they use for EIU's logo is, "Baxter New Style." The reason why I chose this for inspiration is because, I just got accepted to EIU for next year...I'm excited, and ready to take on new challenges that lay ahead of me, I also chose this logo, because I think the font they used is very unique and professional looking.

The News Gazette Typeface

Hello everybody!

Hope everyone had a great week! my typeface inspiration this week is the "News Gazette" typeface. I have always been interested to what kind of typeface they use and the reason why they use the type of font that they use! I like it, and to me it shows a little history to the town of Champaign-Urbana. I also found inspiration to the Chief photo because Illinois starts their football season this Saturday!

Hope everyone has a great 4 day weekend.

Research/Copyright for Project 1-The Century Typeface

The Century Typeface is a serif font that was created by Morris Fuller back in 1906. Century is a great typeface for people to use while doing projects, or anything else on a designing program. It is also well known for its exceptional readability. In a website that I found it says that, "Century is so legible and neutral in tone that it is required by the U.S. Supreme Court that all briefs be presented by typeset in the Century family" (The Century Typeface-An American Original). There are many types of fonts that are in the Century family these include, "Century Bold Condensed, Century Gothic, Century Expanded Italic, Century Bold, and Century Expanded"(Ascender Corporation: Century Font). This font I think is going to be fun researching because not only is thiss font a good typeface to use, but it has a well-known history that makes it popular to use.
